The Importance of Choosing the Right Portable Charger

Business deskThere’s always so much excitement around the release of a new smart device. This most recent round of attention goes to Apple, who released upgrades of their signature items with the iPhone 6s and the iPad Pro. Of course, critics and Apple fanatics alike weighed in on the merits of those devices, and many had their differences of opinion. One thing that can’t be argued is that regardless of the quality of the smart device, they all need to be kept charged. And the most realistic means of charging in today’s culture is by using the right portable charger.

Necessary Quality of a Portable Charger

You already know that you likely can’t go an entire day without needing to charge at least one of your smart devices. And if you’re an especially technology-driven person, two or more devices are likely in need of recharging on a daily basis. Unless you plan on running to an outlet and sitting by your device every time it needs some juice, the most logical solution is a portable charger.

Portable chargers allow users to charge their devices on the go. But not all portable chargers have the same qualities. It’s important to know what to look out for when choosing a portable charging device.

At the top of the list of questions should be which devices you need charged regularly. Each device requires a different level of capacity in order to fully charge; so tablets require more capacity from your portable charger than a standard smartphone, for example. Once you know which devices need charging, you can match it with a charger that has the capacity to provide that level of charge.

For example, a smartphone may have a 2000 milliamp hours battery (mah) and charge at 0.5 amps. That means your portable charger needs to have at least equal to that if you hope to get a full charge. If you have a portable charging device like the Charge M.E, which gives 2.4 amps per port, you are good to fully charge both legacy devices which only take 0.9 amps, and any current smart devices on the market.

Other Considerations for Portable Chargers

Though the capacity of the portable charger is a main concern, other requirements should be considered. The size of the device is important. You want to be able to carry around a portable charger comfortably in your purse or small bag, without much of a hassle. With size comes the next question: how many smart devices can your portable charger actually charge without becoming too bulky or cumbersome for travel?

This is not the 9-5 era of sitting behind a desk for 8 hours a day every day. Employees are on the move; executives are on the move; and their devices need to move with them. Can your portable charger manage multiple devices effectively and with the comfort demanded for the on-the-go worker of today?

These are all fair questions and certainly should be taken into consideration when choosing the right portable charger. Ohming Technology feels it has all of the answers to those questions with the Charge M.E. The Charge M.E has enough capacity to handle both legacy and new devices, plus the ability to charge multiple smart devices simultaneously. It’s also small enough to carry on the road and supports the up-and-down lifestyle that is typical of workers of this generation.
